Classification Subject Subject in Charge The Field of Regional Study & Development Policy Independent Study in Regional Development Policy Tsunatoshi Itoh Regional development is supposed to be "the social and economic development of specific regions", yet advocates disagree on its purpose/significance, policies, and processes, as well as the issues and evaluations of prior development policies. I myself have conducted my research/investigations from the viewpoint of domestic regional development, especially regional employment guarantees and rising income levels, by focusing on industrial development in regions separate from large cities (i.e. rural areas), similar to Kyushu and Kumamoto. In this course, I plan to lead this class based on the research I have done in the past, as well as my current research.
