Independent Study in Labor Economics Katsuhiko Arai
Japan's labor economics are currently in the midst of an enormous swell. People's work habits are changing and temporary workers are drastically increasing as a result of deregulation of the labor market. In addition, due to the current low birth rate, employment problems of women and the elderly are becoming big policy issues. This is being spurred on by the problem of unemployed youth. Current unemployment issues facing Japan, as well as various labor laws and deregulations within today's employment policies, are worth researching. Furthermore, through this research into the unemployment problem, we can consider the meanings and limits in the theories of contemporary labor economics.
