Major Field of Study Subject Subject in Charge Public Finance & Regional Study Studies in Agricultural Policy Ryoichi Yamauchi The basic theme is "Current Issues and Policies regarding Agriculture and Environmental Problems". The class will be divided into two parts: fundamental theory and the field of policy. First, in fundamental theory, we will learn about the Classical School of theory and how it relates to the structure of domestic industry. In the field of policy, we will analyze the Public Beneficial Function of agriculture/farming communities through the lens of social economic cost. Further, in the realm of modern research, we will consider new regional policies like Green Tourism and the Policy for Hilly and Mountainous Areas, while basing our ideas such topics as the EU-model Low Input Sustainable Agriculture, Less Favored Areas, and Direct Compensatory Payment for Environmental Sensitive Areas.
