Mariko and Mia

This first picture was given to Mariko by Mia's daycare school as a Mother's Day present in 1997.

I took the picture below when we visited the Aso mountains in the fall of the same year.

Here's another picture taken on the same day that includes Leon. Notice the airplane in the background. It's actually a radio-controlled glider with a wing span of about a meter. The gliders use wind that blows up the mountain slope to fly indefinitely.
