Here are some of the pictures that Mom has taken on her visit here so far (July-August, 2001).
On July 22, we went to Kita Kyushu (the northern-most city in Kyushu -- if you click on "Kitakyushu" the map will show you the location with a red mark). We stayed with the Yamaguchi's. They used to live in the same apartment with us. That day we went to see a festival. This picture was taken shortly before we went home.
The next day we went to see the JAPAN EXPO 2001. Here the kids play with a robot dog that can see and play.
Professor Nakayama invited us the the EXPO (he even bought our tickets for us). We owe a lot to Professor Nakayama. He is now retired but used to be a colleague of mine at my university. He was also a neighbor of ours in the apartment building we used to live in.
Even though it's summer, the kids have to do a little homework every day (Kumon). Mom suffered along with them -- especially when Leon kept putting his off.
Earlier I send you some pictures I took when we visited Kikuchi Gorge on the 28th (click here to see those). Here I am taking a picture of Mia and Leon.
The next day we went for a walk in a wooded area in Kumamoto called Tatsutayama. Mom took this picture of Leon there.
