What happened in August 2006? Does anybody know?
I know MANY things that happened in Japan in SEPTEMBER 2006:
1. Princess Kiko gave birth to the royal family's first male heir in four decades Sept. 6.
2. Thailand's military overthrew Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra on Sept. 19.
3. Typhoons typhoons typhoons!
BUT THERE WERE SOME EVENTS:
1. Israel on Aug. 30 dropping cluster bombs on Lebanon
2. Murder of female college student in Yamaguchi on Aug. 27 and suicide of apparent murderer.
3. Drunk driver hit a car in Fukuoka on the evening of Aug 25, sending it into the water and murdering three children.
4. a Russian patrol boat opened fire on a Japanese vessel, killing a fisherman on Aug. 16.
5. The first shipment of U.S. beef since Japan re-imposed a ban in January arrived Aug. 7 at Narita airport.
6. A 7-year-old girl drowned at a pool in Fujimino, Saitama Prefecture on Aug. 1.
