  • Introduction
  • Literature review (or own)
  • Methods (procedures)
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion

15. Are your sections numbered?

16. Do charts, figures, illustrations have numbers and clear captions at the bottom?

  ex:     Fig. 2.  Foreign nationals living in Japan in 1996 by nationality
to:

1. Word count (from Introduction to Conclusion) should be between 1000 and 1200 words.

2. Paragraphs should be indented 4-5 spaces.

3. Lines should be double spaced.

4. Do not use 「」 These are Japanese! Use quotation marks instead.

5. Do not use bullets!!

6. Spell check should be completed.

7. NO phrases such as “I think…” and “I want…”!

(Use “It is believed that…” or “The author believes that…” instead, or just omit them!)

8. Include numbered headings/subheadings IN THE SAME FONT (can be bolded) such as

 1. Introduction
 2. Literature review            (or own)
 3. Results				
 4. Discussion			
 5. Conclusion
 6. Bibliography

9. Charts, figures, illustrations should have numbers and titles at the bottom

  ex: Fig. 2.  Foreign nationals living in Japan in 1996 by nationality
