In a debate, there are two teams: affirmative (yes) and negative (no)

Your debate team will consist of two people. One person will make the opening speech, and the other will make the closing speech. Both will participate in the rebuttal.

The debate will be 16 minutes long. The debate format is as follows:

 2 minute constructive from affirmative
 2 minute constructive from negative

2 minutes preparation

 2 minute rebuttal from negative
 2 minute rebuttal from affirmative

2 minutes preparation

 2 minute closing from affirmative
 2 minute closing from negative

We will have 5 debate teams in this class. Each team will choose two debate topics to research. We will debate in round robin style on the last two days.

You will need to research and prepare for BOTH SIDES of the debate.
