Dear Professor Yoneoka,

My name is Alison Lowry and I am a doctoral student at the University of Erfurt in Germany.

I am currently writing my Ph.D. on how English is used as a lingua franca in business meetings across Europe and came across your English Umbrella model on the Internet.

I think it is an excellent description of how English is used around the world and would very much like to refer to it in my book. Unfortunately, our library does not seem to have publications under the name ‘Yoneoka’, and the website neither mentions the book or journal I would be able to find it in, nor gives the date of publication.

I would be very grateful for any information you are able to provide and look forward to reading more about your theories.

Kind regards,

Alison Lowry
