'WELCOME (BACK) TO CURRENT EVENTS IN ENGLISH II! (2020 FALL semester 3rd period Monday)'

This class will be in ENGLISH (mostly!).
We will be listening to news, reading news,
writing about news, and talking about news!

 Each week we will do:

• 1. 15 minutes Introduction, listening lesson.
• 2. 5-10 minutes Answer quizzes.
• 3. 30-40 minutes In-class chat. Try to make 10 comments!
• 4. 15-20 minutes FACE TO FACE DISCUSSION CHATROOM-DISCUSSION QUESTIONS?
• 5. 5 minutes introduction of next week's topic.

You will get *classpoints* as follows:

 *15 chats x 0-10 classpoints =                             0-150 classpoints
 *15 discussions x 4 classpoints                             0-60 classpoints
                                                            = 210 classpoints /2 = 105 points

You need to get this many classpoints for the following grades:

 *120 classpoints (=60 points) = C
 *140 classpoints (=70 points) = B
 *160 classpoints (=80 points) = A
 *180 classpoints (=90 points) = S

• reduced classpoints = if you are LATE or if you speak JAPANESE during the chats, you will get -1 classpoint
  • Your classpoints be divided by 2 for your final grade!

 1. Make a group of 3-4 people.
 2. Write your guesses for the top 10 domestic and international news on the paper. Speak English only!
 3. Discuss your personal best and worst stories.  Decide on which one is the best/worst of your group.
 4. ONE person write the quiz for each group.
